I Love Jesus, But Hate The Bible

The Bible is not just a book. The Bible is a LIBRARY of books of different genres written and compiled by hundreds of people over the course of 1500 years. For all its complexity, the Bible has a unified purpose says Paul in 2 Timothy 3. To meet those who describe themselves as "Bible-believing Christians," one might suspect that purpose has something to do with being self-righteous and judgy. But that's not what it's supposed to be!

Gandhi famously quipped, “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” Gandhi stands in good company: the world is full of people who like Jesus very much but can’t stand the people who follow him – and for good reason! This four-week series uses the letters Paul wrote to his friend Timothy to examine places where Jesus’ followers sometimes miss the mark.
